Questions pertaining to Indigenous issues and respectfulness in politics will likely make it into the town hall. Two thirds of the event will focus on those two topics

The final section of the conversation will be driven by community questions submitted here in advance. Questions pertaining to topics asked most will be prioritized. If you want the candidates to address a specific issue, it is very important that you submit a question! As long as you are abiding by our mantra of respect, no questions are off the table. This is your chance to get your voice heard and make an impact, don’t pass it up!

You may also submit a video or audio question for the candidates to respond to. If you are respectful, detailed and impassioned in how you are asking questions, then your video question has a high chance of being played at the town hall. To make your video question even more likely to be prioritized please consider stating your name, where in Oakland you live, and which organization or group (if any) you represent. Try to keep your questions under 30 seconds in length. Any question that includes slurs or manifestly prejudicial language will not be considered.
